Busters Finishing Professional Seasons

Aaron Breit

Former Broncbuster baseball players Aaron Breit, George Isabel, and Todd Weldon are currently finishing their professional seasons. Breit, who played at Garden City from 2005-2006, is in his fifth season with the San Diego Padres Organization. Drafted in 2004 and 2005 by the Padres, Breit spent the majority of the 2010 season with the Lake Elsinore Storm of the High Class A California. Aaron was used predominantly out of the pen for the Storm, compiling a 3.75 ERA in 53 appearances. His success earned him a promotion to Double A San Antonio of the Texas League.

George Isabel played at Garden City in the spring of 2009. During his one season as a Buster, Isabel compiled a 5-0 record over eight starts. This past spring Isabel signed a free agent deal with the New York Yankees and reported to their Dominican Summer League Affiliate. This season with the DSL Yankees, George has posted an impressive 1.38 ERA while punching out sixteen hitters in thirteen innings. Opponents are hitting a meager .200 against him.

Todd Weldon is another former Buster experiencing success in professional baseball. Weldon, who pitched at GCCC in 2007, was taken in the 27th round of the MLB June Amateur Draft by the New York Mets. Weldon has spent his first professional season with the Kingsport Mets of the Appalacian League. Todd has appeared in sixteen games this season, striking out twenty-five hitters over 19+ innings of work.

    Congratulations to these former Broncbusters!
